I buy into the NYT brand with literally and symbolically. I buy the paper, download apps, check out VR stories. Use them as the first news source on my devices. Learn from reader exchanges around their articles. Think they’re cooking stuff, book recommendations, culture pages are pretty great. Admire their Truth campaign. Believe they deliver sharp insight all around. Apple News or Facebook newsfeeds aren’t the gateway in this case. For me, they’ve created their own. That’s a great example of a brand. And platform. One I do care about.
